Yes, I've admitted it. I'm addicted to The Vampire Diaries. I realise it's not that unusual but I need to discuss it, I have to! I have only just started the third season but I raced through the second, especially the last few episodes! You may be thinking "She is so far behind", and yes it is true that I am behind and I am cursing myself for it!
I started watching TVD along with the rest of the world when it started and I loved it. For some reason however, I fell off the wagon and never finished watching the first season. I'm terrible, I know! It was a running joke among my friends that I would never finish it but I knew I had to find out what happened so not too long ago, I got myself a Netflix account and braced myself for a marathon TVD session. I am so happy I did and can't believe it took me this long! I think the reason was because after I stopped watching season one, people started telling me what happened in season two so I didn't need to watch it. I have no idea what happens in season three or four so I'm super excited!
I actually read all of the Vampire Diaries books. The series and books are nothing alike though. The only thing they have in common is the concept and names of the characters. The books are good but they got pretty weird and not believable in any way, then again they are about vampires and werewolves so they're not believable to begin with! This is one of the few instances where the adaptation is better than the books, in my opinion.
If you don't watch The Vampire Diaries, here are three quick reasons why you should:
2. The whole story is based around the Salvatore brothers, Stefan and Damon, who are vampires, both competing for the love of one human, Elena Gilbert. This obviously causes great divide among TVD viewers as to who Elena should choose, Damon, the bad-boy or Stefan the kind-hearted sensitive type. I myself am a fan of Damon's, you'll just have to tune in to decide which is your personal favourite!
3. The story lines are amazing, I don't know how they come up with it! From werewolves to witches and unbeatable vampires, TVD has got it all! There is none of that sparkly Edward Cullen shit in this show, it's all badass vampire drama!
I'm off to finish season 3... you may not see me for a very long time!
Do you watch The Vampire Diaries and if so who is your favourite, Stefan or Damon?
